April showers for Sunday, 4/23

April's book is Kafka on the Shore by Haruki Murakami .

The book is available in paperback (woohoo!), and used copies are available (88, according to Amazon as of 3/20), so no need to wait in long library lines!

Date is set as Sunday 4/23, time TBD, Kristine is hosting (addy info will be available on the Evite).

Happy reading!!

Past Book List

For posterity, I thought it would make sense to list out the books we've already wandered through. I'll make links to all the titles when I get there, but for now, I'll just list them out:

  • Panama - Eric Zency

  • The Samurai's Garden - Gail Tsukiyama

  • The Woman and the Ape - Peter Hoeg

  • On Mexican Time - Tony Cohen

  • The Hours - Michael Cunningham

  • Ghost Soldiers - Hampton Sides

  • The Sparrow - Mary Doria Russell

  • 1491 - Charles C. Mann

  • The Awakening - Kate Chopin

Boy - we've been busy! Comments as to good/bad/ugly are certainly appreciated but I can't remember what we liked and what we didn't. However, I think we were unanimous on the subject of ape sex. :-)

Fat Sunday Discussion

Okay, here we go. The long overdue book list for us to refer back to since we never ever ever remember what we've said from one month to the next.

Today we discussed Kate Chopin's The Awakening. Discussion was spirited, lively (read: disorganized and chaotic) but it seems that the over all impression was "book- good," and "book- we like."

So, on to the list!

Books we swear we want to read, in no particular order:

What are we reading next??

Next club is set to take place on Sunday, 4/23 at Kristine's place. Stay tuned for the Evite for directions!
